During Covid, I decided to write about some of the unique people I found on my ancestry searches. One was Dietrich F. Iburg of Elgin, Nebraska. He came over the ocean from Germany to work on a sponsorship near Elgin.
From his humble beginnings, Dick (Dietrich) eventually owned two farms, a local bank, and was active in local politics.
My grandmother, Bertha Iburg Wurdeman, was one of his nine children. It was from her that I gained my love of literature and my spirit for adventure.
